What size is a standard plate?
The
size of a standard oblong plate is 520x111mm.
Are smaller plates legal?
Yes, at PL47ES we offer smaller plates that are still legal on number plates with less than 7 digits as they comply with the DVLA spacing requirements
Can I fit my new plate myself or do I need professional support?
By selecting our fitting kit prior to check out you will receive everything that you need to fit your new number plate yourself in less than 10 minutes. In addition, you will also receive fitting instructions to ensure you do this safely and without causing damage to your car or the number plate.
Can I use my old plate holder for my new plate?
Yes, the plate holder on your car can be also used to hold your new plate.
How long will it take for my new plate to arrive?
If you order your new plate before 12pm you will receive your new plate within 24h hours. If ordered after 12pm you will receive it within 48h.
Are tinted plates legal?
No, tinted plates are not allowed by the DVLA and can only be used as showplates.
Are 3D and 4D plates legal?
Yes, 3D and 4D plates are 100% road legal and comply with DVLA regulations.
Why is the front plate white and the rear plate yellow?
The DVLA requires all front plates to be white and rear plates yellow in order to allow drivers to easily know whether they are looking at the front or rear of a vehicle.
